White GameCube controller by fatlittlenick White GameCube controller by fatlittlenick
These GC controllers are so freaking good.
Bought off Play-Asia for like 40 bucks, it comes in white, its official and has a 3m long cord!!

It saddens me how under-rated the Gamecube was.
I was the only one of my friends who had one back when they first came out, but was fortunate to have played the awesome Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine and Starwars Rougue squadron 2.

So many brilliant games for the GC.

It's still weird that the gamecube only had a start button and no select buttons whatsoever.

YES, Gamecube! Did you ever have Wavebirds, the wireless controllers?? I used to get blisters from playing Smash Bros Melee so much...

Did you ever play Pikmin, Eternal Darkness, or Resident Evil 4? Those were great GC games too. Mario Golf was a lot of fun too, if you like that kind of thing..

Wind Waker was amazing, and it was made even MORE amazing by the fact that they came out with a graphically updated Ocarina Of Time to come with it. Easily the best $50 I have ever spent in my life

no, i only had the corded ones, but ive herd that the wavebirds were awesome, like 100hour battery life's or something redonk like that.

I haven't played Pikmin, I really want to get Eternal Darkness, but i HAVE played RE4 on wii (well i bought it i mean) and i have to say.....that game is Amazing, I'd be happy to say that its one of my favorite games I've ever played.
The funny thing is that i was never really that into the RE series, but i had heard so many good reviews about it so i was pretty much inclined to by it, so i did, and boy...what a good decision!

Wind waker would have to be my favorite GC game, the thing that pisses me off it the haters hating the graphics without playing the game to begin with...morons.

Yeah, me too! I was never a huge Resident Evil fan, but when 4 came out I had a feeling it would be different (and as a Gamecube loyalist I figured I had to get it anyway ;)). I'm glad it was so well received, especially for being such a departure from an enormously popular series like that.. In fact the whole gameplay in RE has been changed ever since RE4 came out.

Pikmin always looked extremely lame to me. Then I played it, and accidentally had lots of fun. If you're ever bored enough to pick it up, I think Pikmin 2 was a little better (I think because it had co-op? I don't remember), and it's not like there's a story you need to have followed or anything.

Eternal Darkness is easily the most innovative creepy game I have ever played. Your character had a 'sanity bar' as well as a health bar, and when your sanity was low, the game would play tricks on you, like making it look like your save file was being deleted, or telling you that your controller was unplugged as a mass of enemies attacked you. Or sometimes your character's head would just randomly fall off and freak the %$@# out of you. It didn't mess with your character, it messed with YOU, haha.. I can't believe this hasn't been done since!

Yeah, I'll admit in my ignorant youth I hated the cell-shaded direction of Wind Waker, but I wasn't stupid enough to NOT play it, and of course loved the style once I did.
And yes, the wavebirds were magical. Scratch that: ARE magical! I love that the Wii lets you not only play GC games and use GC memory cards, but the controllers too! Nintendo just... gets me

Holy cow, your write-up on Eternal Darkness has made me look it up online! I love this 'Sanity Bar' thing, sounds like it would really stress you out if your health is low and your facing heaps of enemies.

I hear that Pikmin 3 is announced, so I could wait out for that or get 1 or 2 on Wii in that 'new play control' style (i think their $20 over here)

The white GC controller i have is brilliant (sturdy as heck and a 3m cord!!) but If i ever find a WaveBird, i will get one. The thing is that there so hard to come by on ebay, plus their damn pricey too, like $70 or more for one in good condition.

I know what you mean about people shunning the GC. It was an awesome console. I agree Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine and Starwars Rougue squadron 2 were deffo great games for it. Makes me wanna throw them on.
I loved how dependant you got on Fludd, especially when he was taken away for those old skool bonus levels :D
